Book Description
The First UK Printing published by Gollancz in 1935. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. A little pushing at the spine ends and light rubbing to the lower cover edges. The gilt titling remains very bright. Some very light spotting to the prelims. Free from inscriptions and erasures. Small bookseller's sticker to the lower front pastedown. The binding remains very tight and the book appears unread. The correct first issue WRAPPER is complete and is in exceptional near Fine condition. Some light fading and toning to the spine , upper edges and flap folds. It is remarkably clean for its age. The red lettering to the front cover remains very bright. The wrapper presents as a very attractive example in the removable Brodart archival cover. The wrapper has undergone NO restoration or repairs. A very early title from the acclaimed Irish writer Elizabeth Bowen. Such early Bowen titles are extremely hard to find in any condition. Scarce with such attributes.
