FOUR WORKS IN ONE. 4to. (9.2 x 6.8 inches). Book of Common Prayer; title page dated 1666. - Complete. ----- Old Testament; lacks general title, title page and one leaf (a, a2, a3) with text starting on Dedication to King James leaf. Small area of loss to a few lines of margin notes on chapter one of Isaiah, but main text not affected. Blank leaf before Apochrypha; ----- The New Testament. Title page dated 1666. Complete. Tear to about 2 inches of inner margin at end of chapter one of the second epistle of Paul the Apostle, but with no loss to the text; ----- Index Biblicus: or an exact concordance to the Holy Bible, By John Jackson. Title page dated 1668. Lacking blank leaf before title but the text is complete. - First edition of this Concordance. ----- The whole book of Psalms. Title dated 1666. Complete. Full black morocco binding, late 17th or early 18th century. Spine with raised bands. Compartments ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Elaborate decorative gilt roll borders on boards. Board edges and turn-ins with decorative gilt rolls. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Split to the bottom half of the front hinge and also to the bottom third of the spine itself, but still holding firm and intact. Corners bumped and extremities rubbed but overall a very attractive and pleasing binding.
