The Gleneagles Map of The Heart of Scotland shewing 5,000 Square Miles of the Highlands and Lowlands around Gleneagles Hotel, published by McCorquodale, Glasgow and constructed and printed by W & A K Johnston, Edinburgh circa 1930. The crest of Gleneagles appears in English and Gaelic in another pair at the top of the map. On folding linen size 113 by 83 cm, an oval map with a decorative border, scale 4 miles to the inch. Colour. Folds into stiff boards size 22 by 15 cm. Includes an inset map of the LMS network. Main map includes small images of various landmarks and characters in fact and fiction including Balmoral, Brigadoon and Rob Roy! The illustrated front board suggests that the map was produced to publicise golfing holidays or as a souvenir of the resort. Map and boards in Good to VG condition.
