Published by Leach & Son, Wisbech, and Simpkin, Marshall & Co, London, [1869], 1st edition. Half leather binding with black cloth boards. Five raised bands to spine. Gilt lettering and decoration to spine. Gilt lettering and borders to front cover. Aeg. 11.25ins x 8.75ins, marbled endpapers, vi, 76pp text plus 15 photographic illustrations and 9pp ground plans. Churches covered are Boston, Spalding, Sutton, Gedney, Moulton, Holbeach, Weston, Whaplode & Croyland Abbey. Each page of text is attractively contained within a squared red border. The photographs were taken by Edward Johnson, the text written by Reverends G.B. Blenkin, E. Moore, H.Leigh Bennett, G. Rogers and Wm Smith. The ground plans were drawn by Rev E. Moore. A scarce work containing early photographs. VG.
