First edition. A landmark in theatre history, being the first American mainstream play to focus on gay issues. Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very good. Illustrated by (dj design) Diane and Leo Dillon (illustrator). First Edition ( 3rd Imp ). Nice tight clean copy with no discernible wear to book, the jacket is bright and clean, in nearly perfect condition, the only blemishes being a slight crinkling of the inner flap and a small closed tear at the bottom of the rear spine head. Internally very good. Exceptionally signed by the cast members of the play including Douglas Lambert ( Moonraker, Sunday Bloody Sunday), Frank Kelly, Emmet Bergin, Etc

The Boys in the Band is a play by Mart Crowley. The play premiered Off-Broadway in 1968, and was revived on Broadway for its 50th anniversary in 2018. The play revolves around a group of gay men who gather for a birthday party in New York City, and was groundbreaking for its portrayal of gay life. It was adapted into two feature films.
A sequel, The Men from the Boys, premiered in 2002.
