Book Description

First editions. Two volumes in original cloth with gilt vignettes, ruled in gilt. All edges gilt. In the publisher's red slip-case, see Williams; Madan; Green & Crutch: pages 166 and 185. Both books have minor fading to the spines, Concluded has light fading to upper boards. Sylvie & Bruno has a neat owner's name in ink. Concluded has foxing to prelims only, this volume has white end papers, so presumably replaced, but look original. Includes the single leaf 'Advertisement' regarding the 60th thousand of 'Through the Looking-Glass'.
