Manuscript Booklet 1850, Paper Watermarked 1849. Particulars of an Estate in the Parish of Kingsley & County of Stafford. Belonging to Hugh Sleigh Esq. Size 33 x 21cm. Bound in original tartan paper wraps. Beautiful Hand Coloured, Ornamental Title Page, with red and green swags of wheat. W. Leech Surveyor, Leek. 1850. 10 pages of ornamental ink writing & others containing pencil notes. Lists of landowners. Interesting Staffordshire Manuscript.
Dealer Notes
Hugh Sleigh (1820-1901) was a Silk Manufacturer, living at Sprout Hall, Leek.
He helped promote the building of All Saints Church in Compton, designed by Norman Shaw & decorated by members of the Arts & Crafts Movement.
