Shunga - sex and pleasure in Japanese art

Book Description
This is a 1st edition H/B copy of “Shunga – sex and pleasure in Japanese art” edited by Timothy Clark, C Andrew Gerstle, Aki Ishigami and Akiko Yano and published by The British Museum in 2013 with its unclipped dust jacket. The book was produced to compliment an exhibition at the British Museum of Japanese sexually explicit art works from the period 1600 to 1900. Due to the explicit nature of the majority of the illustrations I have selected some of the less explicit. The book has more than 500 pages and more than 400 illustrations. The book is in almost unread condition with no inscriptions or marks and both the book and jacket have no bumping or rubbing. A lovely copy of a scarce book.
