Unique item. Oblong format. A red leather bound with gilt lettering (A.C.E) to the front board. Marbled endpapers. On first page, an inscription reading 1918-1928, Presented to The Rev. Canon A.C. England, M.A, R.D,together with a Cheque for the purchase of a Motor Car from his friends in Hessle and Hull on his vacating the Vicarage of Hessle and the Office of the Rural Dean of Hull. On the following pages is a hand written list of subscribers. The list was written in red and black ink using a style of calligraphy and blotting paper applied to prevent smudging. The blotting paper was applied using adhesive and is still present, leaving some scars where the adhesive was applied.
