Book Description
Préface de Maurice Bedel. Although unnumbered (instead, it has the recipient named), this is one of 5 copies which contains an additional suite of engravings (held in a glassine wrapper, and closed with violet stickers). It is signed by both author and illustrator and with a short (5 lines) manuscript poem / dedication. In addition, it contains an original drawing of a hand holding a violet, signed in full by Suzanne Tourte. Uncut pages. Printed on paper from Marais Crèvecoeur .
Dealer Notes
Suzanne Tourte was a French figurative illustrator and artist. (1904 - 1979). In 1950, she was in the midst of a period called "windings" where the modelling of her characters is surrounded by a line. This work is a lovely example of this style.

The slip-case is in good, condition, with a touch of rubbing / fading only. The covers are in excellent condition, and now covered in archival protection (removable). Internally, the book is in fine condition.
