Book Description

The sole UK printing published by Gwasg Gregynog in 2006. The BOOK and its' original Slipcase are in Fine condition. This copy is number 141 from a total edition size of only 165 copies: 150 copies were hand-bound in quarter leather, titled in gold on the spine and both boards, and were presented in a slipcase. There were also 15 special copies issued with an editioned set of prints. The binding was designed by Rigby Graham. The book was set in Monotype Baskerville and printed on Velin arches pure cotton mould-made paper. Rigby Graham provides twenty full page striking original woodcuts. Accompanied by the Publisher's Prospectus, order-form and compliments slip. The prospectus has been folded once. Loosely inserted are two full page editioned print signed by Rigby Graham. The first print image is the same of that in the Prospectus: 'Gulla Basama and hot air balloons over Parys Mountain Mine'. The print is in Fine condition (numbered (39/80). The second print is in Fine condition and is an Artists Proof of a scarecrow design which was not included in the final publication. This has been signed by Rigby Graham. Rigby Graham has also pencilled at the lower edge 'for Terry Sole'. A superb production and an expensive title to purchase on publication. Increasingly uncommon more-so with these attributes.
