Christensen made nine visits to the Antarctic in the period 1926-37, largely with a view to “solving scientific and geographical problems” (p. 3). This is the text of a lecture read before the Norwegian Geographical Society in September, 1937. It was first published in Oslo, but this Washington reprint is uncommon.
