Claude Wilson’s handbook on the subject is a wonderful period piece, with advertisements at the front for climbing gear and equipment. This copy belonged to Michael Ward, a member of the 1951 Everest reconnaissance with Eric Shipton, and doctor on the successful 1953 expedition.
