8vo. 2 volumes, set. Limited edition of 1375 sets (475 for Random House in the USA). #190. Original full niger morocco, flexibly sewn, with green oval in centre of each front cover placed within gilt surround and lettered gilt, ‘Que scay-je?’. Raised bands on spine. Green title label on second panel down the spine. All edges untrimmed. Top edge gilt on the rough. Green endpapers. Printed by R. & R. Clark on Pannekoek mould-made paper watermarked ‘Nonesuch’. Spines uniformly tanned. A few dark spots to each board. Near fine.
Dealer Notes
Based on the third, corrected edition of Florio’s translation from 1632. The first edition of 1603 was used by Shakespeare.
