Book Description

First edition, 4to (293 x225 mm), 79pp., coloured frontispiece with tissue guard, signed beneath by Nevinson in pencil, 24 monochrome plates, orig. publisher’s green cloth-backed boards, lightly rubbed, printed label to spine and upper cover.
Dealer Notes
Christopher Richard Wynne Nevinson (1889-1946), “was a modern artist depicting a modern war. In the paintings reproduced here we can see Nevinson switching between the Futurist style which he practised before World War One, and a more naturalistic, journalistic approach that developed as the reality of war challenged Futurism’s ideals.”—British Library website.
