Contains English translations of seven treatises first published in Amoenitates Academicae (1749-1790), including one by Linnaeus - 'An oration concerning travelling in one's own countrey.' Bilberg; 'On the Foliation of Trees'; or the time when they put out leaves', by Harald Barck; 'Of the use of Curiosity', by Christopher Gedner; 'Obstacles to the Improvement of Physic', by Joh. Georg. Beyerstein; 'The Swedish Pan', by Nicholas Hasselgren; 'Observations on Grasses', by B. Stillingfleet.
