Ywo page autograph letter undated but from Dymchurch in Kent, where she often holidayed, so probably sometime between 1899 and the end of her life. An ink stamp of 'The Ladies Field' [magazine]. Madame, I find a note in my diary of a story you want for your Christmas No. Unfortunately my other books are at home, so I cannot look up the fuller notes made at the time of your requirements. therefore may I ask you to let me have a line to this address explaining full length & the date when you require the story, Yours faithfully, E Nesbit. Envelope folds, mild grubbiness/creasing, touches of edge wear, slightly worn along horizontal fold on second page but good condition. A rare letter from one of the very greatest and most influential of English childrens' authors.
