Book Description
The First UK printing published by Methuen, London in 1967. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Original black boards. Free from inscriptions and erasures. A hint of toning to the text-block. The photographic Wrapper is in near Fine condition. A little spotting to the flaps. The colouring remains bright. The scarce 'Evening Standard Drama Award for the play of 1966' wraparound Band is complete and is in near Fine condition. Repriced sticker to the lower front flap. The wrapper looks very attractive in the removable Brodart archival cover. A very sharp copy of the author's second play to be staged, 'Loot' was described at the time as 'quick witted, pungent and sprightly entertainment' (Evening Standard). It was the winner of the 1966 Evening Standard Drama Award for the best play of 1966 and has since become regarded as a comic masterpiece. Scarce with such attributes.
