xiv pp + 498pp + 32pp, 4 maps, 3 folding maps (1 in colour), all as called for, brown illustrated boards. The contents are in very good condition with a little browning and foxing to the first few pages, a small rectangular scuff and a signature to the top right corner of the front free endpaper and a small mark to the top of pages 448/9 close to the spine. The boards are in very good condition, with just a little grubbiness and rubbing to the edges.

A handsome copy of Churchill's well known work - 'a personal record of [his] adventures and impressions during the first five months of the African War'. Churchill was a correspondent for the Morning Post.
