Book Description
Almost all the information on this sheet is fictitious, the hotel never existed and the humour heavy handed. However, the reference to Lodgings for Single Men is one used by licensed brothels in Victorian London, according to Henry Mayhew. Some had costermongers set up in adjoining booths and could provide victuals as is the case here.
