Chapman & Hall, Limited., London 1889 20 fine coloured plates, including the decorative title page. 1st ed., clean with some slight browning to plain end papers. Original glazed paper covered decorative boards with some minor wear to head and tail of spine and corners of the boards rounded with surface wear. Richard Simkin (1850-1926) was employed by the War Office to design recruiting posters and was a skilled illustrator of army uniforms.
