Contemporary calf, banded spine, gilt decorated compartments (slightly rubbed), boards alike with gilt roll outer border of gilt stars and flourishes. Account of the judicial punishment of Robert Francois Damiens, would be assassin of Louis XIV and last man to be hung, drawn and quartered in France.
