First edition. 258x177mm. pp. 36, [2]. XXXII black and white photographs. Card covers with illustrated fold-round illustrated card wrappers. Worn and rubbed to extremities with some light creasing. Tears to spine with slight loss in places, cracking to hinges but holding and overall in good condition although internally it is in very good condition especially the photographs. With text by Marcel Natkin on the history and aesthetics of the nude in art from antiquity to the 20th century and there is a brief chapter at the end on the technique of nude photography. The photographs are grouped according to “Les Diverses Conceptions du Nu” which includes “Le Nu Statuaire” by Sougez, “Le Nu Réaliste” by Brassaï and “Le Nu Poétique” by Jahan.
