Book Description
Large folio [530 x 425 mm] geometric binding, continental in origin, probably German or French dating from the latter part of the 18th Century. The design uses multiple dark brown calf inlays on a lighter calf background with a succession of circular patterns revolving around a larger star shape in the centre; identical to both boards. With hand printed colour woodblock end papers, the interior seems to have originally been used as a scrapbook, or print album using heavy stock paper with no discernible watermark, most of the pages now removed with approximately 20 leaves remaining. Sold as a curious binding only.
Author GEOMETRIC BINDING
Date c. 1780.
