Book Description

2 vols. in 1. 48mo. (83 x 45mm), pp. [iv], 199, [i]; [iii], 204-405, [iii], + portrait frontispiece and additional engraved frontispiece, including single-leaf publisher’s catalogue at rear. Some toning to frontispiece, additional title-page and title-page but otherwise clean. Contemporary black morocco with gilt spine, borders and dentelles, a.e.g., scarlet endpapers. Joints a little rubbed but still a very good, attractively-bound copy. Ownership inscription of Elizabeth Frances Drury (b.1809) of Harrow to a preliminary blank. She was the daughter of respected Classical scholar and Harrow School master Henry Joseph Thomas Drury (1778–1841).
