PIPER, John John Piper’s Stowe. With a Foreword by John Piper and a Commentary by Mark Girouard. Hurtwood Press in Association with The Tate Gallery, 1983. Folio. pp. 47; 50 colour illustrations. Very Good in the original decorated cloth designed by the author. Together with the folio two page prospectus with loosely inserted a bundle of proof sheets from the book including a number of proofs before letters of some of the illustrations. An out of series copy, this one signed by the author and marked “printer’s copy” by the artist. In addition, a tipped in page following the title, printed “Special copy for Iain Bain” and signed again by the artist. Together with an ALs from the artist to Iain Bain dated 25 April 1979 regarding a gift received and his firework proofs. Also included is a large piece of thick paper with a large and bold signature of the artist in felt pen.
