Book Description

Published to accompany the major exhibition of Glover's work in Australian State Capitals in 2004. Glover was born in Leicestershire in 1767, became a founder member of various Art Societies in England, had a gallery in London's Bond Street in 1820, but emigrated to Tasmania with his family in 1831 (when it was still Van Diemen's Land) . He received a large grant, purchased additional acres and established a successful farm. He continued to paint and produced many very fine works of Tasmanian scenery and of the Aboriginal people.
