From the text: This book, which has been edited by the Director of the Public Library, etc., is issued by the Corporation of Brighton, with the assistance of the Officer Commanding. The original and translations have been approved by the India Office, and a copy of it is given to each patient when he leaves the Royal Pavilion. The Mayor and Corporation hope that it will be a souvenir to the Indians of the many friends whom they have won in Brighton alike by their patient courage in suffering and by their gallant conduct in the field. The photographs which illustrate it have been taken specially for it, and give some idea of the magnificent buildings and beautiful grounds. N.B. Green cloth boards with gilt lettering and emblem to front board. Marbled end papers and front and rear paste downs. Previous owners book plate to front paste down. Content is in bright, clean condition and includes two page fold out photograph. Corners of boards are rubbed Hinge of front board loose. heavy rubbing to head and tail of spine with some loss, heavier to head. Light rubbing to edges of boards. 'Hove, Sussex' embossed on ffep. Some spotting to end papers with several small marks.
