Book Description

[xxiv], 688 pages followed by columns 689-704, then pages 705-705, then columns once again 708-899 + [77] unnumbered pages at the rear. Some pages misnumbered, a few are bound in the wrong order - these are 327-334 but complete. Some browning to pages and some spotting. A few paper faults. In old full vellum binding, lacking the ties. The vellum on the front boards seems to have shrunk by about 1 cm and to have been trimmed, the board edges are very worn. Gilt armorial to the front and rear board - these tie in with the printed presentation leaf which is bound in before the title page - this has some manuscript additions and a name that is crossed through in ink. Bookplate to the front pastedown of Fintray House library, their small shelf label to the spine and a small lot number to the foot of the spine. A very heavy volume.
