In 1892 she married William Osler, the physician, then professor of medicine at Johns Hopkins University. The couple moved to Oxford in 1905 when William took the chair of Regius Professor of Medicine. Arnold Muirhead, the author of this memoir, met the Osler’s in 1921, and became a close friend of Grace. Following Grace’s death, her sister Susan Chapin suggested Muirhead write the memoir, and in his dedication he thanks her and John Fulton, who introduced him to the Oslers.
