Published in 1822, this is a scarce early edition of this classic early novel from Frances ( Fanny ) Burney, bound in an old quarter leather binding, 522 pages, illustrated with a coloured frontispiece and a further four coloured plates, online records list a copy with a frontispiece and six plates, this copy has just the frontispiece and four plates with no obvious evidence that anymore where ever bound in. There is a scrape to the leather on the spine, some general rubbing wear else the binding is in good solid condition, internally light browning to a few pages, some occasional light creases and a few minor marks else contents are in good general condition
