Dealer Notes
A report on conditions in the East German territories which had been under Polish (i.e. communist) administration since the end of World War II, based on information gathered by the author and his wife in a road trip through the region in the summer of 1957. "They journeyed more than 4000 miles through East Prussia, the Danzig area, Pomerania, East Brandenburg and Silesia, talking to newly-settled Poles and some of the few remaining Germans still living there, collecting a vast amount of notes and recording their impressions by means of camera and tape-recorder," with the resulting report being "both fascinating and shocking." The book was first published in Germany, and the German-language remains quite common, but relatively few copies of this English-language version, prepared by the author himself, seem to have evaded the libraries of the world.
