THIRD IMPRESSION (April 1967), SIGNED BY EDITOR to ffep: ‘Nigel Nicolson/ Leeds Nov. 16. 1967’; FIRST EDITION. Large 8vos, pp.[448] + b/w frontis and plates; pp. [512] + b/w frontis and plates. Both volumes yellow cloth, gilt lettering in black panel to spine. Top edge black (faded). Both volumes slight lean to spine, gently bruised at spine ends. Edges lightly tanned. Faint stain to fore-edge of first volume. Stain to title-page of second volume. Else, both clean and tidy. First volume in grey dust jacket - clipped, but price ‘45s. net’ still present, spine sunned, wear to extremities, two closed tears (1.5 & 4cm) at joints at head of spine, plus shorter one to top edge of front panel, also lightly creased. Second volume in dun dust jacket - loss to head of spine and closed tear, creasing to front panel, a few light stains. Unusual with Nigel Nicolson’s signature.
