Niebuhr participated as an astronomer and naturalist in the expedition undertaken on behalf of the Danish king from which he returned as the sole survivor. The travelogue covers Constantinople Egypt Sinai Persia Bombay Kurdistan etc. Its location and cartographic coverage of southwestern Arabia are of particular importance. Nice clean and crispy copy.
