Book Description
First edition. 8vo. Frontispiece, 40pp. advertisements. Original dark green cloth ruled in black to upper cover with gilt oval vignette, spine lettered in gilt.
Dealer Notes
A bright example of this uncommon book by the explorer & abolitionist Sir Samuel Baker, recounting his time spent roaming the island of Cyprus in a Gypsy van, during which considers the geography, topography and developing political situation (Cyprus having been occupied by the British in 1878).

Unfortunately marred by the occasional, light library stamp, obviously applied by an over-enthusiastic educationalist.
Author Baker (Samuel White)
Date 1879
Binding Original cloth
Publisher Macmillan and Co.
Condition Educational institute library stamp to half-title, frontispiece, title and scattered throughout, hinges pulling; cloth slightly rubbed at corners and spine-ends, otherwise a very good, bright example.
