Dealer Notes
Sir Patrick Abercrombie (1879-1957) is considered the most celebrated British planner of his generation. He was appointed Professor of Civic Design at the University of Liverpool in 1915. Abercrombie prepared a number of ambitious plans for the development of Doncaster, Sheffield, East Kent, Bristol and Bath, and Cumbria. In these plans (as shown in this report) he demonstrated an understanding of the interrelated factors that needed to be considered by planners, including, geology, landscape, architecture, industry and transport.
