Book Description
Three volumes complete - Volume One - [2], viii, xii, ii, (7)-212, 2pp; Volume Two - [2], (5)-243pp, [1] and Volume Three - [2], (5)-284pp. Later full calf by Riviere, raised bands, spines in six panels, morocco title label to second panel, contrasting volume label to third, remaining with central floral device surrounded by dots in a lozenge with small volute corner pieces, covers with triple fillet border, ruled to edges, roll to inner edges, all in gilt, a.e.g. Slightly rubbed to extremities, but generally bright and clean. Internally some light browning, occasional light foxing, plates trimmed with some off-setting. Previous owner's (George Seton Veitch) armorial bookplate to front pastedowns. Complete with thirty-six hand-coloured plates (eleven in volume one, twelve in volume two and thirteen in volume three), now housed in a cloth slipcase
