There is also some slight spotting to the text block of the last title. All books are free from inscriptions. A couple of titles have small neat bookseller stickers to the lower pastedowns. The fifth title has a little light marking to the lower front board. The binding is tight in all copies and the set is profusely illustrated with B/W photographs throughout. The WRAPPERS are in Very Good++ or better condition. All are protected in removable brodart archival covers. Some are price-clipped and have some mild edge wear at the spine ends and edges. The 'Zoo Quest for a Dragon' has a little tape reinforcement to the verso and a little laminate loss to the upper rear cover. A couple of wrappers have a small previous owner's identification sticker to the verso which does not show through to the front. 'Quest In Paradise ' has the usual fading to the spine. Please see supplied images of the wrappers. All six titles have been simply Signed without dedication by David Attenborough to the title page. 'Zoo Quest' was a series of multi-part nature documentaries broadcast on the BBC Television Service between 1954 and 1963. It was the first major programme to feature David Attenborough. In each series, Attenborough travelled with staff from London Zoo to a tropical country to capture an animal for the zoo's collection (the accepted practice at the time). Although the programme was structured around the quest for the animal, it also featured film of other wildlife in the area and of the local people and their customs. Attenborough introduced each programme from the studio and then narrated the film his team had shot on location. At the end of each series, the animals the team had captured were introduced in the studio, where experts from the zoo discussed them. The series was the most popular wildlife programme of its time in Britain, and established Attenborough's career as a nature documentary presenter. A very scarce and collectible set of what were a cheap production series of titles. Further details and images can be provided..
