This is a fascinating old manuscript record book kept from 1914 through to 1932 by a Carlisle Bookbinders in which he has kept written and visual records of his book binding jobs, the book runs to over 500 numbered pages in which the binder has recorded visually a record of each binding job by taking a rubbing from the books title along with occasional examples of actual leather label and printed paper the work includes bindings for ledger books for local businesses including the local council, a Local brewery etc, along with some more traditional binding work the book measures 11 inches tall approx. the covers are darkened with some creasing wear to corners, internally the books pages are on very thin paper, a small number of the pages are loose, a few are badly torn and heavily creased, but overall for a book that was in constant use for nearly 20 years, it has the expected wear and tear A FASCINATING RECORD OF A CARLISLE BOOKBINDERS BINDING JOBS DURING THE EARLY PART OF THE LAST CENTURY
