Appointed to be Read in Churches. Minion, Crown 8vo, marginal references. Full olive green morocco by Stoakley, late Hawes, with raised bands ornate gilt compartments on spine, containing bunches of grapes, vine leaves etc, boards with ornate gilt borders containing similar grapes and leaves, ornate gilt dentelles and gilt tooling on edges of boards, all edges gilt. The 1885 Kelly's Directory records John B. Hawes at 30 Green St. Cambridge; the 1889 edition records Stoakley & Sons at the same address; the firm continued as standard Cambridge binders, mostly turning out neat academic bindings, for a number of years, but clearly were able to execute orders of the finest quality. There is an example in the British Library. Herbert Gardner Travers copy given by his Godmother 1891 with an inscription on the first blank followed by other family details.
