Olivine page-edges, occasional small marks else contents very good condition. 195 x145 mm [approx. 7 ½” x 6”] pictorial cloth in blue-green, maroon and gold, bevelled edges; rubbed with a little wear at extremities, generally bright and very good. Blackie, 1st edition 1885.

Papua New Guinea is of course Australia’s closest neighbour. Following the passage of the Papua Act in 1905, British New Guinea became the Territory of Papua, and formal Australian administration began in 1906. Papua New Guinea became independent in 1975.
