Book Description

4to. First edition. Original textured buff cloth, lettered in red. Double page colour frontispiece and title page by John Piper. Black and white plates and photographs throughout. The d/w has a few short closed tears to the top edge and small loss at the head of the spine. Fine in very good ++ d/w.
Dealer Notes
The title page illustration is repeated on the dust-wrapper. An artist’s survey and celebration of Britain’s architecture as it appealed to him and described with characteristic knowledge and vigour. A nice, fresh copy.
