Book Description

A parade of people in colourful regional attire marches past the Saint Elisabeth Church in Budapest in this poster promoting travel to the capital of Hungary. 945 x 645 mm (37¼ x 25½ inches). Design: Jeges Ernö; fully drawn into the plate at the bottom left corner. Edited by the Hungarian National Council of Tourist Traffic, Budapest. Jeges Ernö ( 1898-1956) was a poster designer and painter. Jeges tried out many fields of graphic design. He created lots of book covers and illustrations that show the influence of Art Nouveau and folk art. He resumed designing posters after 1925, and designed some colourful commercial and event posters. He continued to design posters occasionally until the end of the 1940s. Condition: Very good. With normal folding creases, bright colours, small edge cracks with some very neat repairs (only visible on otherwise blank verso). Overall in very nice condition.
