Pencil note to blank final page states this letter was written to 'Elihu Farmer' in 1854. The letter is concerned with her health [she has been ill] and this seems to have changed her plans for the near future. Signed 'Grace Greenwood' and underneath, 'Mrs L.K. Lippincott' [her married name]. Small area of light paper abrasion to top rh corner of pages else VG. Sara Jane Lippincott was a noteable 'femme des lettres' in mid nineteenth century America, a distinguished journalist she was the first woman reporter on the New York Times.
