Book Description
Pocket sized in dark maroon boards with light title block on front board and spine. Boards are somewhat rubbed at extremities but very clean and fresh nonetheless. Scuffing on spine cloth. Author has inscribed th front free ep thus: "To Miss Vera Palmer (Searle) one of the gifted lionesses of Women's Sports in keen affection of her generous help to the author, With all good wishes J.S Sandilands. 29.3.28." So this is evidently Vera Seale's personal inscribed copy. She was an early pioneer of women's athletics. Making this book a unique piece of sporting memorablia which Clare Balding herself would probably be very proud proud to have in her book collection if indeed she has one!
