"AN HISTORICAL AND TOPOGRAPHICAL DESCRIPTION OF CHELSEA AND ITS ENVIRONS interspersed with biographical anecdotes of illustrious and eminent persons who have resided in Chelsea during the three preceding centuries" Published in London in 1810 this is the First Edition of Faulkner’s description of Chelsea and environs, attractively bound in a recent half leather binding, with marbled paper covered board, internally illustrated with a folding map and ten plates, 9.25 inches tall, 459 pages plus index and 16 page preface and list of subscribers, the leather binding is in very good condition with only minor scuffs, internally old ownership inscription to top of title page, folding map has been heavily strengthened to rear with some show through, very heavy noticeable offsetting to the plates, rear list of plates page has been heavily trimmed but retains all printed area, small repair to top of last page of index (pictured) moisture staining and marks to a few pages else contents in good general condition SOME NOTICEABLE BROWNING AND OFFSETTING TO A FEW PAGES ELSE A NICELY BOUND EXAMPLE OF THE FIRST EDITION
