10 catalogues with paper covers (varying designs) dating from 1927 to the 1940s. This is an archive of furniture catalogues published by the furniture manufacturer, Wake & Dean Ltd. The company had a large factory complex in Yatton, near Bristol, and produced a wide range of furniture and fittings during many years of production. It eventually became Avalon Furniture, which finally closed its gates in 1985. The catalogues differ in content and carry the following titles: 'School Furniture', 'Office Furnitiure and Fittings', 'Solid Oak Entrance Gates', 'School Furniture' (not a duplicate), 'Furniture and Fittings', 'Pedigree Furniture for Offices', 'Furniture and Fittings for Hosptials and Public Institutions', 'Church Furniture and Fittings' and two duplicate catalogues entitled, 'Modern Office Furniture, Board Room and Library Fittings'. The earliest catalogues are dated 1927 and the others, while mostly undated, appear to be from the 1930s and 1940s.
