Albucasis on Surgery and Instruments

Book Description
The work is a comprehensive English translation of "On Surgery and Instruments", the 30th and final book of Albucasis' (Abū al-Qāsim Khalaf ibn al-'Abbās al-Zahrāwī) monumental medical encyclopedia "Kitab al-Tasrif", originally written in circa 1000 C.E. As the title suggests this was a pioneering text in the history of surgery and medical instruments. This edition contains scholarly notes and commentary throughout, and reproduces the Arabic text and illustrated figures of the original work throughout.
