Book Description

First edition, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR IN THE YEAR OF PUBLICATION TO ALAN WHICKER AND HIS PARTNER: ‘For Alan and Valerie -- (The man who created a new kind of journalism and the girl who created a new kind of girl!) With much love Bon (That’s Kyril Bonfiglioli) 14.X.79’. Chronologically the second book of the Charlie Mortdecai trilogy, although it was published last. The TV journalist and travelogue presenter Alan Whicker [1921-2013] was a long time resident of Jersey. Bonfiglioli lived there during the 1970s, and the third book in the Mortdecai trilogy, Something Nasty in the Woodshed (Macmillan, 1976), is set on the island. A fine copy, with an association to match.
