8vo. First edition. Limited edition of 300 numbered and signed copies but this inscribed on the limitation page, ‘Review copy with G. Orioli’s compliments’. Issued in paper covers, this copy has been rebound in blue cloth without the original covers. Cloth faded on spine with light wear to tips. Page edges browned as usual (cheap paper). Very good +.
Giuseppe "Pino" Orioli (1884–1942) was a Florentine bookseller best known for privately publishing the unexpurgated first edition of Lady Chatterley's Lover in 1928 and for his long association with Norman Douglas. Given Orioli’s struggles with the English language, this, the last of the Lungarno series, was probably written by Douglas.
